May 2019: Month in REVIEW!

Sorry I was late with this month’s review. I was feeling kinda sluggish and it turns out I had gotten ill. I’m taking meds for it now, but man slowed me down!

Sorry I was late with this month’s review. I was feeling kinda sluggish and it turns out I had gotten ill. I’m taking meds for it now, but man slowed me down!

Anyway, Let’s take a look back on this past May!

May brought with it some slacking on my part. For some reason, I wasn’t really feeling up to doing game development (not sure if it was depression, illness or what). The deadline for Monstructs: Makers and Mayhem’s BETA 2: Into (BETTER) Battle! release was missed. I was able to get some work done on it, but it’s turning out to be a bit more work to really get the battle system to what I would like it to be. Take a look at what was completed so far.

  1. I switched up the movesets for Monstructs to better variety and more strategy.

  2. Now roving bands of Rogue Monstructs are available to gather Components for Making!

The one thing that has slowed down the release (aside from my chronic procrastination), is the Fusion system. As I began to work on it, I saw it was going to be more intensive than I first thought. I’m hoping to have this done within the next week or so.

In between the procrastination, sickies and money making, I did play a few really great RPG Maker Games. One of them, I gave a pretty good review for. I feel confident that, my game Monstructs: Makers aside, this year is going to be good for RPG Maker games! Don’t believe me? Try out the awesome demos played by yours truly:

Thanks to a LOT of marketing, I was able to get the word out about my upcoming COLLECT-A-FRIEND Game Jam! I’ve gathered up all the prizes, finalized the THEME of the Jam and now we’re entering the final few days to opening day! As of this blog, there are currently 60+ people joined! Also, there is a page for teams to form up and participate in the jam on Crowdforge! The DISCORD Community has grown with many great folks thanks from the Jam and it’s been more active!

I want to give a special SHOUT OUT to RPGTime for the First Impression video he made for Episode 1 of Slime Kingdom on his YouTube channel! It really helped out in terms of pointing out errors and bugs I need to hammer out. Plus, I’ve gotten some good ideas on what to do to enhance the experience for players as well! Be sure to check out his channel and SUBSCRIBE!

So, heavy procrastination and sickness aside, I had a pretty productive month, with more things coming down the pipeline. Be sure to follow this space to stay up to date! THANKS AGAIN!!
